Systemic Virtue: HOPE on the HUMP WEDNESDAY June 4, 2025
Hope: Desire accompanied by expectation of or belief in its fulfillment.
It is becoming more and more evident to me that integrating systemic virtue into one’s life makes it a challenge to disseminate which virtue is highlighted in any particular moment. What I am about to share with you has been culminating for several days, coasting over every day, every virtue gently but firmly helping me Remain Steady on Path. Having a day of the week to integrate the energetic qualities of each of them is a beautiful way to infuse their values, becoming benefactor of Divine gifts of Grace and Ease into some of the most painful parts of living here on earth.
The soothing waters of virtue in the crack of a broken heart.
Heartbreak seems to be unavoidable in life. It actually feels like the heart has cracked.
An electric spark catches a fuel line, breaking the most tender fibers open coursing pain from the center of my being outward to every tendril of hair and fiber of nerve to the tips and prints of my fingers and toes.
No doubt, you have felt this. And if you haven’t, well, I’m not sure I’d call you fortunate. I would suggest you get out there and allow your heart to break. Here’s why.
Break (n)
1. Forcible disruption or separation.
2. First appearance of light in the morning
Break (v)
1. To divide solid matter violently into parts or fragments
2. To tame, subdue.
3. To burst forth, spring out
The feeling of a break in the heart is a window, a portal of opportunity. A disruption to consider an opportunity to let go of one way of seeing, or sensing things and accepting what is NOW. That which existed just a moment before — gone. Prints left on the banks of memory. Something you believed to be true, is no more. Scratching like claws on the tender tissue of the heart.
The Break of Dawn.
When day breaks, it is not that the day is broken. It is that the light has burst forth from night, all eyes adjusting to the flooding of light across the land, gently diffusing over the hills, valleys, and oceans, growing stronger as -over time - the sun lifts higher, drenching full powered illuminated visibility over the land.
The Sound of Heartbreak.
The moment in the letting go of a past position of the heart - comes a sob. An exhale that carries away the pain of the break, allowing more room for more light to dawn, and flood from the heart across the landscape of the body - out to all those toe tendrils and finger fibers .
The sob is the balloon holding huge the entire sensation of what was held in the heart moments before, now enveloped, held buoyant in salt water, whose contents are allowed to spill out with the sound and rush of its release and the dropping and drenching of tears. Again, and again. Until the heart feels empty, the body deflated, floating in the puddles of the eyes.
Suspended now, in the moment before the future arrives in the next inhale. Its a moment where breath does not feel like it will come. OR is it the mind that is refusing to come to the future?. Because what comes next is a choice of Free Will. Fortitude is required here, for the potential is great to be swept up in pain, making the heart remain- stuck in the stuff of the mind of the past. Without systemic virtue, it can be easy to slide back into that sticky goo.
Don’t Deny your Sob.
The sob is your Spirit taking command in an attempt to soothe the pain, and let you see into a bright future. Here’s how. The diaphragm is the heart’s hammock. The bottom point (or apex) of the heart is tethered to the top (or apex) of your diaphragm (solar plexus/sun’s network). Envision these two tethered by a massive and indestructible bungee cord. The tip of two tethered apex points, above and below, riding strong tidal waves of breath and emotion. Sobbing and laughter both produce the same bouncing and rocking effect, with your vagus nerve being flossed and strummed like a harp cord amid the harmonics of breath and voice as they escort the emotions into higher altitudes.
Since sobbing requires oxygen, the lungs become pillows of air enveloping, multidimensionally massaging every angle, edge, tip, and corner of the heart as it bounces and jiggles its way out of the past, with eyes washed by salt water so as to see more clearly after the storm has passed.
Hope for The Future of a Broken Heart.
Future’s definition is “to be, exist, grow”
This is the moment where I must choose which hoop to jump through. It’s the moment to see through clear eyes a future filled with Hope-filled hoops.
Or to fall back in the stagnating past, trying to drag something that no longer exists into the future. A seed that will certainly cause decay. I can choose to remain in the break, believing this is all there is, that the past was all that was right. To choose to remain within a belief that the pain in the break is the thing to be lived. A refusal of the possibilities of what a Broken Open Heart can manifest. Tightening a grip on a past that no longer exists and confusing the pain as personal, re-fusing the diffusion of the light of dawn.
I choose to invite this Broken Open Heart to keep breaking open so I can feel, even if only in the flash of a moment, a Love So Deep and so filled with Light, I can barely stand to touch it. And therefore, must release the weight of the past that would keep me from feeling the perfection of this indescribable flame at the tip’s point.
To stand at the tip of the heart on the tip of my sun where in that moment absolutely nothing and absolutely everything matters - and doesn’t.
I encourage you to grasp hold of prudence, temperance, hope, fortitude, justice and faith in order to step boldly into heartbreak and let Love be your break of dawn.

I love this line: When day breaks, it is not that the day is broken.
